Under the bark

What are we? Mere visitors that amble all over this rock? Forcefully thrown in the deeps of space we try our best to make this planet home. Hurling through time and space at sixty thousand miles an hour. Staring at the sky in search of purpose. What have we done? Tethered to a burning sphere by an invisible force. Endlessly part of a plan B to make up for our wrongs. We fought against the day but now we've lost.
Never over, inescapable cycle, seen a million times before, deep and stormy as an ocean.
